according to what I read this is very rushed and I would probably be better off watching the 40 ep TV series version from 45 years ago, which is so highly rated I wonder why they made a short movie instead.
Also from my limited testing HEVC (aka x264) is the best codec for anime, if best bang for the buck is your goal, AV1 with Nvenc is 10 times faster to encode, but 30-50 % bigger for similar quality.
If you don't like, don't download it, what's the point of complaining ? it's not gonna change anyone's mind.
HEVC is not inherently the "best", because it has strengths AVC does not, and vice versa. Thus it's neither a good or bad thing that's the codec chosen, but rather, the compression and encoding setting is the only aspect that matters, as you can have superb encodes on either codec. But, given this is zrdb who lacks any crticial thinking and knowledge on anything technical, it's not surprising such moronic comments (from him) exist.
That said, this is giving more attention to a worthless remake than it deserves, so regardless of codec, this is gonna suck on a fundamental level.
The DVD version of the movie had a full length running commentary track. It explained a lot of things including the person as a go-kart concept. The producer and director had a laugh about that. I had always hoped some group would include that running commentary track. I'm not particularly desperate since I bought the disc, but it would be nice to have a more convenient version on a drive.
