Not sure if this will help your project/progress, but Hamtaro is streaming free on Abema. Well, techically each episode will be free for viewing (and ripping) 7 days after it broadcasts on one of the channels via Abema. So more like a rotation of being free. Episode 1 is currently free, next week episode 2, etc. I don't have a vpn to try ripping despite having a few tricks up my sleeve.

Yeah, we are aware! Thanks for pointing it out. We are figuring out a way to get premium (you need a japanese card apparently) because all episodes (and movies) are available right now if you pay the premium.
There's a certain range of episodes that was never released on DVD so even if the quality is just the "standard" DVD release, it will be better than the VHS raws we have currently.
But thank you for pointing it out, the community is quite excited about these news :)
